An unpleasant experience.

On Tuesday, during Taekwondo training, I have injured my eyes. We were doing sparring practice, my practicing partner had landed a slamming kick on my face while I was charging in. All I remembered was that I heard a suffocated boom, my ear was ringing and then instantly I felt the immerse pain on my left eye and my face. I rolled on the floor due to the unbearable pain, quickly people gathered around and asked me was I okay, I thought it wasn't anything serious, and just needed a break. So my partner pulled me away and let me rest. As I was resting, the pain on the eye and face didn't go away, it didn't subside. Then my eyes was tearing uncontrollably, I felt breathless and started to break out cold sweat. I thought I just needed a longer rest, but after 10 mins the pain was still the same intensity, and I began to feel weak and hungry, then all the sickening symptoms start to manifest. I started to feel nauseous, and dizzy. At that moment I realized it was ser...

Happy Valentine's Day + Deadpool

Today is again the day of the year, February 14, Happy Valentine's Day people. To all the attached, last long, have a sweet and committed one; to all the singles, wish we all can find our true love soon! Although I don't have a valentine, I enjoyed myself today.   Morning, as usual, I went to church service. (For those of you who don't know, I'm a Christian.) The turn-up rate was not fantastic, I'm the only youth who went, the others are all busy with their own activities I guess. The service today was good, what I've taken away from today's sermen was a phrase "Thank God for today, Trust Him for tomorrow." preached by Pastor Sandy ( The Team White ) I found it very applicable to me. I am grateful for what I have now, I've seen my friends who had much worse situation than me, I'm rather blessed compared to them and I ought to be contented.  In addition, we need to entrust our uncertainties of tomorrow to God, have f...

Another CNY day with friends.

Yesterday night, I met up with a few of my poly classmates again.   We went to dine at the Monster Curry first. I have to say the serving plates there were really huge, it was bigger than the size of my face, and the combo set was really monstrous too, its a portion for two, for sure. I didn't have the combo set though, I had just a regular curry chicken rice, and it tasted so-so, nothing impressive, it's like I wouldn't travel down to Jurong Point or any other place just for that curry solely. And because, it was my first time eating Monster Curry, so I went for the novelty of it. After dinner, we went to CY's house, had a few rounds of gamble as it was still in the midst of the CNY and it is THE thing to do during CNY. The moneys that we used to gamble were trivial. At the end of the day, the biggest winner had won like whopping 2 dollars and 30 cents only. Purely for entertainment purpose. W...

Happy Chinese New Year! 新春快乐,猴年吉祥!

Image
This year is the year of monkey , so I wish everyone would be as lively and witty as monkey, and also wish everyone a healthy and prosperous year ahead. Yesterday night I had a feast with my mom. She cooked a lot of dishes and I helped to make the dumplings! For the first time, I made dumplings, it wasn't so bad! I didn't take a photo of it as it wasn't so nice looking haha. Ever since I start to have memories, the CNY has  always been spend with families, have reunion dinner and 看春晚, 放鞭炮。 It was a norm. However, after I came to Singapore, the elements of the Chinese new year we used to have are lessened, and were lost along the way. There were no more playing with firecrackers and fireworks as it is prohibited here; no more reunion dinner with the whole families, just me and my mom; no more watching CNY show on TV but on a laptop; and it is just losing its flavor. The Chinese 春节晚会 is no long as interesting to watch as last time, ...

A night out with brothers

Today my brothers in Christ and I, we met up for dinner at Holland Village. It's also for the purpose of bidding farewell to Nicholas as he is going to Philippines with his family tomorrow, not for leisure but business. Initially, I thought he's going to be away for 5 years as I remember he had told me something about going to Philippines to learn on business and entrepreneurship from his uncle. Then during the meetup, I only to find out that he's just going to be away for 10 days for this time, what a misinterpretation. Anyway we had jolly good time spend together. When we boys gathered around , there will never run out of lame jokes and childish antics. Boys gonna be boys. We had Yoshimaru ramen for dinner. Frankly, it was not so delicious as I remembered it used to be. I felt that the ramen was not worth the money spent, but again it's the company that matters. And after dinner, we were circling around the Holland Village in s...
