Eventful month ahead.

It has been one week since the last post. I admit that I was being lazy, carried away with other stuffs. Now time to get back on track. I will continue to blog but it won't be as often as last three month. I will try to hit a target of two posts a week, do my best to adhere to the routine and keep this blog alive.  This one week, I have been active. I exercised almost everyday to keep up my fitness for the up coming TOC competition and of course to keep in good shapes. TOC is just around the corner, it's 41 days away and I can start to count down. However, I am still far away from the goal that I have set for myself, so it time for me to buck up and be focus. On the other hand, school works start to piling up a little bit, I need to make time for clearing up the heap soon, in fact, NOW. There's a test coming up next week, and the scope of the content to be tested is ambiguous. The lecturer told us that the formula will be given in the...

TOC Camp.

TOC camp has ended on yesterday's night with a success! Another milestone was downed for us, the committee, and with this we are left with one more event, TOC competition before we step down, looking forward to it! This camp wouldn't made possible without the help of the alumnus, the effort of the committees and the participation of the club members. Thank you everyone!  The camp was exhausting due to insuffient hours of sleep and prolonged hours of training, but it was fun nevertheless. The part I like about camps the most were those times we chitchat and play games before we sleep. I really enjoyed the time spend with group of friends, cause there will never short of laughters! We would always say nonsensical comments, do stupid actions and make fun of each other. SHo FUN Hahaha. You know friends plays together, stays together. We played two games, one wa called "Psyche". It's a mobile game that there will be a question asked and all the players have to come...

Interview Passed.

Yes, I have passed the interview yesterday and I've gotten the internship placing! However, the catch is that the work place is very far from my house, I need at least one and a half hours to commute to my work place. So, I gotta get up pretty early everyday just for work. However, the pay they are offering to me was good (Y), that compensates with my traveling time and distance, I guess. Today, again we had Taekwondo training. We did a few rounds of full contact sparring, it was fun and exciting as usual. I like to do full contact sparring because I would learnt something new each time I fight, and gained more experience! Meanwhile, I've also realised that my flexibility is deteriorating, I am not as flexible as last time. And the reason is that I were too focused on my sparring, the kicks, the technics and the tactics, but neglected the aspect of conditioning and stretching for my legs which I believe that they are the corner stones and foundatio...

Feeling Nervous.

I just had another round Taekwondo Grading today. I was feeling super nervous and tensed-up before the grading, because, I was not well-prepared and didn't have enough practice for this grading. And my chance of sparring for TOC is on the line. If I failed the grading this time, so to speak, then I can kiss goodbye to my sparring competition already. It was nerve-wracking. However, on a positive note, e ven though I don't feel confident about passing the grading this time round, but judging from my past experience , I have yet to see anybody failed the grading before, thus I don't suppose I will be the first one too. Back track to this Friday, our club had a kyorugi selection for the fighters on Friday, everyone did rather well, so did I. Haha. I had given my best in the fights, and the shortcoming about my fights was my lack of fighting experience , so I was rather slow in getting into the mood on the court, trying to catch up with the pace and intensity of the match. ...

Besides, a funny thing happened today. My slipper strap snapped while I was in a lecture. My foot was fiddling with it and then it suddenly gave way and broke, it was at that moment, I knew I ... hate myself haha. Then right after, I started to think of how am I going to go back hall? Or should I change in dobok pants, so that it may seems less weird when I walking around bare-footed in the campus? But thank God, by god's grace and mercy, Ming Yang came to my rescue, he helped me bought a pair a slipper from a Supermarket and deliver to me, and deliver me out of my predicament.(I'm so touched T.T) You see, a friend in need is a friend in indeed. Thank you so much Ming Yang! ...

School reopens

School just started this week, and I am feeling determined to pull up my GPA by 0.3, so that's gonna took me quite a lot of effort to do so. I believe with the right attitude and never say die spirit I will achieve this. Today, we had our demo performance in school, it was for the Sports Expose which is an event where sports club and its sub-clubs came together and show case their clubs. The performance was fun and we did rather well, a friend of mine came to me and told me that our performance was sho coolll, especially the last part, aerobics, quote from him "帅呆了". I was quite shock when I heard this because the last part was the part that we have the least confidence in as we always made mistakes and not synchronized.   Lesson-wise, it was okay. The stuff that was taught in class was understandable and clear. I shall continue to stay focus in class, clear any doubts or questions or work on the day i...

Goal(Gold) accomplished!

Image
Today was truly an exhilarating day for me, because I have achieved not only my goal but a gold for IPPT test. It was indeed gratifying and rewarding when you reached a goal that is seemed farfetched to you, yet you did it with the immerse effort and unyielding determination. Again, this reassured me that I can be what I want to be. As long as I am willing to get down to it, anything is possible.  Human minds and body is really an amazing thing, I've been training for this test about a monthz Although I have stipulate a plan to progressively build up my body, I did not aherent to the plan strictly. Hence, I wasn't 100% ready and prepared for the test per se, for example I couldn't do 50 pushups in one shot just days before the test which I was targetting at 60 or I couldn't hit a 11min timing for 2.4km. So I thought that I wouldn't get gold and didn't get my hope up. However, by some miracles and God's blessing,  or its rather my adrenaline rush, i did it,...

Heeding Advice.

I went to training today, and it was tiring as usual. One thing I learnt today is that always heed advises from the experienced, a Chinese saying that "不听老人言,吃亏在眼前。“ it roughly means something like that "if you do not heed the advise of a elder or veteran, you are gonna suffer a loss right before your eyes."  And here is how I really get to understand the nuisance of the saying. You know  before I got to know or come in contact with Kyorugi (sparring), I had little to none knowledge of sparring. However, I remembered at some point of time, during trainings, coach told us to always clench our fists when sparring and not to open it because there is a chance of getting kicked by the opponent in the hand and get injured. And she went on to told us an anecdote that she have once seen people injured their hands real bad in competition, that a guy's fingers got fractured...

小幸运 Jamming session (feat. Mingyang Matthew Courtney)

Image
So this Tuesday Matthew, Ming Yang, Courtney and me went to jam! It is our first time collaborate with each other, and it turned out to be better than expected, though there's much room for improvement.   All of us know each other through NTU TKD, and because we share the same passion and love for music, therefore , the five of us decide to come together, congregate our musical talent and that's how we started this jamming session. We've decided to make this a regular session, once a week or once every other week, to keep up the our proficiencies, skills and chemistries, so you could expect to see more videos of us jamming in the future. Stay tuned! For better quality and full screen click here :

Happy new year!

Image
Happy new year everybody!  2015 has passed in a blink of an eye, it has been a hectic year for me, overwhelming school work plus demanding duty in the TKD club, however it was never short of awesomeness and fulfillment. Just re-count the things that I had done or accomplished in the year 2015. and I had gotten my driving licence in the year, finally, despite the fact that I've failed twice for the PTP before getting my licence successfully, it didn't come easy, praise to the Lord (coz I prayed on the third times haha). I had my first overseas trip solely with my friends to Hong Kong, though it was not as fun as we thought it would be but definitely a one to remember. My committees had completed most of the events for the semester with a triumph, kudos to my committees for toiled through the challenging semester. I got my first Gold medal ever in my who...
